Control of Vehicle Speeds in Residential Areas: Submission by Councillor Justin Sinnott

As part of a review of vehicle speeds in housing estates, Fingal County Council is engaging with interested parties in a non-statutory consultation process. In this regard, members of the public are invited to make submissions to the Council regarding the adequacy or otherwise of existing speed limits in their area.

In order to ensure that housing estate roads are as safe as possible for pedestrians, cyclists and especially children, the Council are particularly welcoming submissions in relation to the possible introduction of a 30km/h speed limit in residential areas.
The link below is a submission I have made in relation to estates within the Swords Ward. The submission is requesting that specific named estates in Swords, Santry and Meakestown be included in the review of speed limits and that a 30kph speed limit should be introduced for these estates.
