The two large advertising hoardings at the entrance to the Boroimhe estate in Swords which have been a source of irritation for residents will finally be removed at the end of the month. Although the developer applied for permission to retain the signs some months ago this was refused.
Fingal County Council have confirmed to me that planning permission for the retention of these signs was refused on 25th March 2014.
Arrangements are being made for the removal of the hoardings with removal expected to be completed by 31st July.
I am absolutely delighted to see that these signs are now being finally removed. Residents of Boroimhe were understandably frustrated that signage such as this was left in place for so long. Myself and others raised this issue with the Council and residents and their representatives battled for a long time to get these signs removed. Their efforts have been rewarded.
